چکیده
We investigate the possibility of erosion planetesimals in a protoplanetary disk. use theory and direct numerical simulations (lattice Boltzmann method) to calculate large—much larger than mean-free path gas molecules—bodies different shapes flows. find that follows universal power law time, at intermediate times, independent Reynolds number flow initial shape body. Consequently, we estimate eccentric orbits, even very small eccentricity, rapidly (in about 100 yr) erodes away if semimajor axis their orbit lies inner disk—less 10 au. Even circular orbits erode approximately 10,000 yr are ⪅0.6

Fuzzy Sliding Mode for Spacecraft Formation Control in Eccentric Orbits
The problem of relative motion control for spacecraft formation flying in eccentric orbits is considered in this paper. Due to the presence of nonlinear dynamics and external disturbances, a robust fuzzy sliding mode controller is developed. The slopes of sliding surfaces of the conventional sliding mode controller are tuned according to error states using a fuzzy logic and reach the pre-define...
متن کاملType Ii Migration of Planets on Eccentric Orbits
The observed extrasolar planets possess both large masses (with a median M sin i of 1.65 MJ) and a wide range in orbital eccentricity (0 < e < 0.94). As planets are thought to form in circumstellar disks, one important question in planet formation is determining whether, and to what degree, a gaseous disk affects an eccentric planet’s orbit. Recent studies have probed the interaction between a ...
متن کاملTwo New Candidate Planets in Eccentric Orbits
Doppler measurements of two G–type main–sequence stars, HD210277 and HD168443, reveal Keplerian variations that imply the presence of companions with masses (M sin i ) of 1.28 and 5.04 MJUP and orbital periods of 437 d and 58 d, respectively. The orbits have large eccentricities of e=0.45 and e=0.54, respectively. All 9 known extrasolar planet candidates with a=0.2–2.5 AU have orbital eccentric...
متن کاملTransiting planets - lightcurve analysis for eccentric orbits
Transiting planet lightcurves have historically been used predominantly for measuring the depth and hence ratio of the planet-star radii, p. Equations have previously been presented by Seager & Mallén-Ornelas (2003) for the analysis of the total and trough transit lightcurve times to derive the ratio of semi-major axis to stellar radius, a/R∗, in the case of circular orbits. Here, a new analyti...
