Planar FSS based Dual-Band Wire Monopole Antenna for Multi-directional Radiation with Diverse Beamwidths

In this paper, two planar Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) with dissimilar configurations along monopole antenna exhibiting dual-band response at 3 GHz and 5.5 is presented. One of the surfaces reflectors reflective transmissive GHz, whereas opposite for FSS in another flat reflector. Accordingly exhibits directive radiation both frequencies, however directions. Unit cell on order $\lambda _{\mathrm {g}}$ /11, leading to low-profile design. With different orientations reflectors, beamwidths are peak gains 7.1 dBi 12.2 respectively. The composite antenna-FSS a dimension notation="LaTeX">$1.1\lambda \times 1.1\lambda 0.2\lambda $ diverse beam radiation. can be used applications involving wide coverage area, smaller such as satellite communication, Ground Penetrating Radar etc.
