چکیده

The production of pistachio in Tunisia generates a large amount potentially valuable waste, such as leaves, that could be used source bioactive compounds. In this work, the extraction phytochemicals from Pistacia vera L. leaves (male and female) by microwave-assisted (MAE) has been investigated. A response surface methodology (RSM) was for optimization compounds extraction, where independent variables were temperature time, dependent variable yield. Total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid (TFC), antioxidant activities (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP) antimicrobial activity extracts obtained at optimal conditions both evaluated compared not only between them, but also with maceration. optimum 70 °C 61 °C, 5.6 12 min male female respectivily. best results achieved MAE 36% yield, TPC 196.35 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g dry weight (DW), TFC 83.34 catechin (CE)/g high activities. evaluation biological showed provides better capacities then those Moreover, UPLC-DAD-ESI-MS performed to confirm presence some extracts, quercetin, apigenin myricetin derivatives. revealed is an efficient technique active components leaves.

Microwave-assisted Extraction of Phenolic Compounds from Olive Leaves; a Comparison with Maceration

The purpose of this study was to extract phenolic compounds from olive leaves of Koroneiki, Roghani and Mission varieties by maceration and Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) methods with different solvents. Our results revealed that the extraction method, solvent and variety had a significant effect on the amount of phenolic compounds (p<0.05). In both extraction methods, Koroneiki and Missio...

Antioxidant activity of Sicilian pistachio (Pistacia vera L. var. Bronte) nut extract and its bioactive components.

Pistacia vera L. is the only species of Pistacia genus producing edible nuts. This paper investigates the antioxidant potential of a Sicilian variety of pistachio nut by chemical as well as biological assays and measured antioxidant vitamins and a number of antioxidant polyphenols in either the hydrophilic and/or the lipophilic nut extract. In accordance with the majority of foods, the total an...
