Pinguisane-type sesquiterpenoids, unique secondary metabolites of liverworts: A review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This review summarizes the current knowledge on pinguisane-type sesquiterpenoids, unique secondary metabolites of Hepaticae, their isolation, structural elucidation, possible biosynthetic pathways, total synthesis, and biological/pharmacological activities. Overall, 76 compounds are presented, majority which isolated from or detected in liverwort material as metabolites, while 4 represent artifacts isolation procedure. Pinguisane-type sesquiterpenes can be used chemotaxonomic markers for different taxonomic levels liverworts, well to delineate chemical evolutionary relationships within Marchantiophyta phylum.

Review: Secondary Metabolites of Aquilaria, a Thymelaeaceae Genus
Background Aquilaria, a genus belonging to the Thymelaeaceae, produces fragrant resinous agarwood, also known as eaglewood, which has been used as incense since old times. The intense fra-grance is the result of the presence of a wide variety of secondary metabolites. Objective This genus was reported contained sesquiterpenes, chromones, flavonoids, benzophenones, diterpenoids, triterpenoids,...
