چکیده

Background: Colchicum is a genus of the Colchicaceae family with various isolated compounds, especially tropolone alkaloids and flavonoids, which are used for osteoarthritis, gout, cancer, inflammatory diseases, jaundice, sexual impotence in different societies. Objectives: The current study aimed to evaluate phytochemical physicochemical properties anti-inflammatory activities three species. Methods: Total alkaloid, total phenolic/total tannin, flavonoid contents were determined using acidic potassium dichromate, Folin-Ciocalteu, aluminum chloride methods, respectively. Moreover, HPLC method was identification quantitation purposes alkaloids. Physicochemical species, including macroscopic organoleptic properties, solubility, foreign matter, ash values, heavy metal contents, evaluated. Besides, vitro corms also protein denaturation technique as rapid screening method. Results: highest levels phenolic tannins, flavonoids observed C. autumnale, speciosum, robustum, analysis indicated presence colchicine, demecolcine, 2-demethyl 3-demethyl colchicoside, colchifoline, cornigerine, N-deacetyl-N-formyl colchicine these speciosum robustum appropriate compared standard autumnale corm. all species exhibited high drugs. Conclusions: This demonstrated that corm contained similar main compounds amounts, well properties. valuable biological effects plants stimulate cultivations on large scale.

Phytochemical, Pharmacological and Biological Profiles of Tragia Species (family: Euphorbiaceae)

BACKGROUND Tragia belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae which contains about 152 species. Interestingly, most of the earlier investigations have been done using only five Tragia species, namely, Tragia involucrata, Tragia cannabina, Tragia spathulata, Tragia plukenetii, and Tragia benthamii. The objective of the present review is to compile the phytochemical, pharmacological and biological studie...
