چکیده
The larvicidal efficacy of Calopogonium mucunoides leaf and Chrysophyllum albidum seed extract against 2nd 3rd larval instars Aedes aegypti was investigated in an acute bioassay. bioassay done triplicate ten laboratory-reared larvae Ae. at four different concentrations (250, 500, 750, 1000 ppm) with a simultaneous control 24 h, 48 72 h exposure. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins, saponins extracts. C. extracts varied significantly concentration exposure time (p < 0.05). Lethal (LC50 LC90) for were 2.935 7.608 ppm, 2.096 6.302 1.626 5.866 ppm (2nd instar larvae), 2.923 11.067 9.686 2.033 6.946 (3rd while had values 3.231 7.393 2.755 6.123 2.278 4.584 3.731 7.021 2.843 4.526 2.774 4.202 larvae). chloroform fraction partitioning gave 100% mortality larvae, its being more potent than extract. potential bioactive compound extant these plants could become substitute conventional insecticides synthetic pesticides ought to be further explored mosquito larvae.

Larvicidal Efficacy of Temephos against Aedes Aegypti
Three new formulations of temephos (LAVIFOS SG 1%, MOSQ SG 1% and AZAI-SS ZG 1%) were evaluated for larvicidal efficacy against larvae of Aedes aegypti (L.) in waterstorage jars under field-simulated conditions. LAVIFOS SG 1% and MOSQ SG 1% are sand granule formulations, whereas AZAI-SS ZG 1% is zeolite granule formulation. Each formulation contained 1% temephos as an active ingredient. Each fo...

Background Dengue fever is a serious public health issue in Pakistan for many years. Globally plants have been reported to contain compounds with insecticidal properties. These properties have been demonstrated more recently on the larval stages of mosquitoes. Therefore, Citrus cultivar seeds were evaluated for larvicidal potential against the primary dengue vector Aedes aegypti. Methods Extr...

متن کاملLarvicidal efficacy of leaf extracts of Heliotropium Indicum and Mukia maderaspatana against the dengue fever mosquito vector Aedes aegypti
Aedes aegypti is a vector of dengue fever, which is a public health problem in the world. During epidemics, emphasis is laid on the use of insecticides for controlling mosquitoes. The application of easily degradable plant compounds is considered to be one of the safest methods to control insect pests and vectors as an alternative to synthetic pesticides. A study was made to monitor the effect ...
متن کاملLimonoids as larvicidal components against mosquito larvae (Aedes aegypti Linn.).
The study focussed on four limonoids (calodendrolide, harrisonin, pedonin and pyroangolensolide) as larvicidal components against mosquito 2nd instar larvae of the species Aedes aegypti Linn. senso stricto. Since pyroangolensolide is close to calodendrolide in structure, it was synthesized through reduction of calodendrolide with chromium(II) chloride in acetone. Harrisonin and pedonin were ext...
