Physiological and Proteomic Analyses of Two Acanthus Species to Tidal Flooding Stress

چکیده
The mangrove plant Acanthus ilicifolius and its relative, mollis, have been previously proved to possess diverse pharmacological effects. Therefore, evaluating the differentially expressed proteins of these species under tidal flooding stress is essential fully exploit benefit from their medicinal values. roots A. mollis were exposed 6 h per day for 10 days. dry weight, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content, anatomical characteristics, carbon energy levels, two-dimensional electrophoresis coupled with MALDI-TOF/TOF MS technology used reveal divergent resistant strategies. performed better stress, which was reflected in integrity morphological structure, more efficient use energy, a higher percentage up-regulated associated metabolism. could not survive conditions long time, as revealed by disrupting cell structures roots, less down-regulated Energy provision flux balance played role tolerance mollis.

Comparative Proteomic Analysis of Two Manilkara Species Leaves Under NaCl Stress
Background: Salinity is a major environmental limiting factor, which affect agricultural production. The two Manilkara seedlings (M. roxburghiana and M. zapota) with high economic importance, could not adapt well to higher soil salinity and little is known about their proteomic mechanisms. Objectives: The mechanisms responsible ...
متن کاملGene network and proteomic analyses of cardiac responses to pathological and physiological stress.
BACKGROUND The molecular mechanisms underlying similarities and differences between physiological and pathological left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) are of intense interest. Most previous work involved targeted analysis of individual signaling pathways or screening of transcriptomic profiles. We developed a network biology approach using genomic and proteomic data to study the molecular patter...
متن کاملPhysiological adaptation of crop plants to flooding stress.
When crop plants are subjected to soil waterlogging, or an anaerobic condition, their root and shoot systems respond differently. A variety of morphological and anatomical alterations develop in the root system. Reduction of the root respiration rate has been reported in both flooding-tolerant and intolerant species. Besides alcoholic fermentation, several diverse fermentative bypasses take pla...
متن کاملPhysiological and proteomic analyses of salt stress response in the halophyte Halogeton glomeratus
Very little is known about the adaptation mechanism of Chenopodiaceae Halogeton glomeratus, a succulent annual halophyte, under saline conditions. In this study, we investigated the morphological and physiological adaptation mechanisms of seedlings exposed to different concentrations of NaCl treatment for 21 d. Our results revealed that H. glomeratus has a robust ability to tolerate salt; its o...
متن کاملPhysiological and Proteomic Analyses of Saccharum spp. Grown under Salt Stress
Sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) is the world most productive sugar producing crop, making an understanding of its stress physiology key to increasing both sugar and ethanol production. To understand the behavior and salt tolerance mechanisms of sugarcane, two cultivars commonly used in Brazilian agriculture, RB867515 and RB855536, were submitted to salt stress for 48 days. Physiological parameters i...
