چکیده
The study aimed at extracting single cell oil (SCO) from some oleaginous yeasts living on wheat straw and sugarcane molasses media to determine physicochemical properties of the produced for further assessment as edible oil. Thirty samples were isolated according different methods based source isolates. effectiveness yeast produce was studied, when grown two types (detoxified liquid hydrolysate (DLH) non-detoxified (NDLH)), molasse media. Single extracted by hexane. Saccharomyces cerevisiae Pichia guilliermondii used SCO. SCO in significantly (P≤0.05) higher than that DLH gave productivity NDLH straw. Generally, S. (84 %), compared P. (52 %).The results indicated most found be within recommended limit common reported, except iron content; it ranged 21 24 mg/kg, which 4-5 times more permissible level Codex Alimentarius Commission. In addition, contained omega-3 fatty acids such eicosapentaenoic docosahexaenoic are not vegetable Also unsaturated acid profile oils. good characteristics make safe a promising potential raw material production result this suggests isolation order

Single Cell Oil of Oleaginous Fungi from Lebanese Habitats as a Potential Feed Stock for Biodiesel
Single cell oils (SCOs) accumulated by oleaginous fungi have emerged as a potential alternative feedstock for biodiesel production. Five fungal strains were isolated from the Lebanese environment namely Fusarium oxysporum, Mucor hiemalis, Penicillium citrinum, Aspergillus tamari, and Aspergillus niger that have been selected among 39 oleaginous strains for their potential ability to accumulate ...
متن کاملOil Extraction from Millet Seed – Chemical Evaluation of Extracted Oil
ABSTRACT: The object of this study is to extract the oil from millets and evaluate the chemical properties of the extracted oil. Commercial millet oil was obtained by cold solvent extraction adopting soxhlet procedure. Quantitative and qualitative tests concerned with the non-saponifiable matter, fatty acid composition, phosphorus content representing total phospholipids, refractive index, pero...

In this project, different nettle plants from north regions of Iran including Tonekabon, Amol and Gorgan were collected. The oil was extracted using soxhlet extraction apparatus and was subjected to series of physical and chemical tests and determinations consisting of refractive index, melting point, smoke point, nonsaponifiable matter, Iodine value, saponification value, peroxide value, totox...
متن کاملSingle cell oil of oleaginous fungi from the tropical mangrove wetlands as a potential feedstock for biodiesel
BACKGROUND Single cell oils (SCOs) accumulated by oleaginous fungi have emerged as a potential alternative feedstock for biodiesel production. Though fungi from mangrove ecosystem have been reported for production of several lignocellulolytic enzymes, they remain unexplored for their SCO producing ability. Thus, these oleaginous fungi from the mangrove ecosystem could be suitable candidates for...
