چکیده
To compare the physicochemical composition of 4 MTAs commercially available in Latin America. ProRoot MTA (Dentsply, USA), Angelus (Angelus, Brazil), Flow (Ultradent, and Viarden (Viarden, Mexico) were physically chemically compared. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images obtained from powder prepared presentations. Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS) analyses performed by triplicate, to calculate mass proportion calcium (Ca), silicon (Si), Ca/Si among brands. Thermogravimetric (TGA) conducted (50ºC-1000ºC), loss inflection points calculated for each material. Statistical differences Ca Si content determined ANOVA (p<0.05). SEM showed evident appearance both cubic prisms not observed other 3 similar homogeneous structures. was less homogeneous, with random structures (>15um). When comparing proportions between samples, a significantly lower elements when compared brands (p<0.005). TGA analysis behavior MTA, Flow, than 2% 1000C temperature reached. 9,94% before 700C, indicating presence different sensible degradation. The analyzed demonstrated vary their chemical physical characteristics. Clinicians must be aware same material, future research should focus on clinical implications these differences.

Comparison of four commercially available cAMP kits.
In this study four commercially available cAMP kits were compared and shown to differ with respect to reliability, sensitivity, simplicity and expiration time. It is not possible to recommend a particular kit, because the choice depends on the demands of the investigator, which, of course, may vary. However, in our opinion, one of the kits was inferior to the others.
متن کاملNegligible expression of arsenic in some commercially available brands of Portland cement and mineral trioxide aggregate.
INTRODUCTION This study was designed aiming to determine and compare the amount of arsenic in some brands of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and Portland cement. METHODS In the present study, arsenic species (As[III], As[V], and dimethylarsinic acid) were separated by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using a strong anion exchange column and converted into arsines by online HG. T...
متن کاملPhysico-mechanical characteristics of commercially available bulk-fill composites.
OBJECTIVES Bulk-fill composites have emerged, arguably, as a new "class" of resin-based composites, which are claimed to enable restoration in thick layers, up to 4mm. The objective of this work was to compare, under optimal curing conditions, the physico-mechanical properties of most currently available bulk-fill composites to those of two conventional composite materials chosen as references,...
متن کاملPush-out bond strength of different mineral trioxide aggregates
OBJECTIVE This study was aimed to evaluate and to compare the push-out bond strength of different brands of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) with a calcium enriched mixture cement (CEM). MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifteen extracted, single-rooted human teeth were used. The middle-third of the roots were sliced perpendicular to the long axis into 1.00 ± 0.05 mm thick serial slices (15 root × 4 slic...
متن کاملBacterial Leakage of Mineral Trioxide Aggregates and Portland Cement
INTRODUCTION The purpose of this study was to compare the ability of ProRoot mineral trioxide aggregate (PMTA) and Root mineral trioxide aggregate (RMTA) as root-end filling materials, and Portland cement (PC) to prevent bacterial leakage through filled root end cavities. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifty-one extracted human single rooted teeth were cleaned and shaped using a step back technique. T...
