Physical quality of KUB chicken carcass supplemented with turmeric

Abstract Public interest in kampung chicken (Ayam Kampung) must be balanced with the carcass’s quality. Providing healthy and antibiotic-free Ayam Kampung carcasses is a challenge for farmers. As natural additive, turmeric could promote growth performances. This research aimed to evaluate effects of supplementation on physical quality KUB carcasses. The study was conducted at AIAT Bengkulu Postharvest Laboratory Unit from January December 2021. About 20 chickens (75 days old) were involved this experiment. There five treatments study, specifically: (1) without as control, (2) 2.5% supplementation, (3) 5% (4) 7.5% (5) 10% supplementation. Each treatment replicated four times. observation carcass included live weight, total percentage, part percentage (thighs, chest, wings), heart abdominal fat percentage. result showed that significantly reduced chickens. However, did not influence chicken’s yield.
