Physical, Deformation, and Stiffness Properties of Recycled Concrete Aggregate

The construction sector is currently struggling with the reuse of waste originating from demolition and modernization buildings roads. Furthermore, old are gradually being replaced by new structures. This brings a significant increase concrete debris to landfills. To prevent this, many studies on possibilities recycling concrete, known as recycled aggregate (RCA), have been done. broaden applicability reused an understanding its properties engineering behavior required. A difficulty in sustainable, proper management RCA shortage appropriate test results necessary assess utility. For this reason, present study, physical, deformation, stiffness gravely grain distribution were analyzed carefully geotechnical laboratory. examine mentioned properties, extensive experimental program was planned, which included following studies: granulometric analysis, Proctor oedometer tests, well resonant column tests. obtained research show that has lower values deformation parameters than natural aggregates. However, after applying apparatus repetitive cycles loading/unloading/reloading, some improvement studied noticed, most likely due susceptibility static compaction. Moreover, critical reduction range linear response dynamic loading observed.
