Physical and social neighborhood disorder in Latin American cities: a scoping review

Abstract: Neighborhood disorder is an important aspect that may influence the health of residents in urban areas. The aims this study were to map and systematize methods for measuring physical social neighborhood studies conducted Latin American cities. By means a scoping review, articles published from 2000 English, Spanish, Portuguese with following descriptors mapped: neighborhood, disorder, disorder. Searches MEDLINE (PubMed), LILACS (Virtual Health Library), Scopus, Web Science, Cochrane Library. Information on authorship, year, type, locality, data source, target population, outcome, dominion, indicator, method, geographic unit, unit analysis was extracted. Variables disorder-related extracted grouped by similarity content themes. A total 22 identified, all between 2012 2022, majority Brazil (n = 16). perception individual most used method. frequent theme addressed dominion public streets 20) security 15), dominion. lack consensus literature regarding variables measure cities detected.
