چکیده

Encompassing ca. 200 species distributed in paleotropical Africa and Asia, Amorphophallus is one of the largest genera Araceae. In spite great economic interest its glucomannan production, only a few studies have attempted to grasp evolutionary history this genus. current state knowledge, four main clades, mostly linked biogeographical delineation, been identified from phylogenies based on genes. However, relationships among within these clades still remain unclear, due rapid radiation that occurred during early Here, we generated genome skimming libraries for 43 specimens 36 across 4 which allowed us produce phylogenetic matrix set 71 plastid Our confirm monophyly but show new well-resolved arrangement clades. analyses therefore provide scenario timeline evolution consistent with morphological characteristics The inferred also agreement climate dynamics onset long-distance dispersal by earliest migratory birds near Oligocene/Miocene transition around 23 million years ago. study provides an up-to-date baseline understand biogeographic ecological processes shaped diversity distribution Amorphophallus, paving way larger-scale phylogenomic nuclear genomes.

Plastid Phylogenomic Analyses Resolve Tofieldiaceae as the Root of the Early Diverging Monocot Order Alismatales.

The predominantly aquatic order Alismatales, which includes approximately 4,500 species within Araceae, Tofieldiaceae, and the core alismatid families, is a key group in investigating the origin and early diversification of monocots. Despite their importance, phylogenetic ambiguity regarding the root of the Alismatales tree precludes answering questions about the early evolution of the order. H...

Plastid DNA sequencing and nuclear SNP genotyping help resolve the puzzle of central American Platanus.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Recent research on the history of Platanus reveals that hybridization phenomena occurred in the central American species. This study has two goals: to help resolve the evolutive puzzle of central American Platanus, and to test the potential of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detecting ancient hybridization. METHODS Sequencing of a uniparental plastid DNA mark...

A phylogenomic approach to resolve the arthropod tree of life.

Arthropods were the first animals to conquer land and air. They encompass more than three quarters of all described living species. This extraordinary evolutionary success is based on an astoundingly wide array of highly adaptive body organizations. A lack of robustly resolved phylogenetic relationships, however, currently impedes the reliable reconstruction of the underlying evolutionary proce...

A phylogenomic approach to resolve the basal pterygote divergence.

One of the most fascinating Bauplan transitions in the animal kingdom was the invention of insect wings, a change that also contributed to the success and enormous diversity of this animal group. However, the origin of insect flight and the relationships of basal winged insect orders are still controversial. Three hypotheses have been proposed to explain the phylogeny of winged insects: 1) the ...
