Photoperiodic Response of In Vitro Cannabis sativa Plants
نویسندگان
چکیده
The majority of commercial Cannabis sativa L. (cannabis) cultivators use a 12.0-hour uninterrupted dark period to induce flowering; however, scientific information prove this is the optimal for all genotypes lacking. Knowing genotype-specific photoperiods may help promote growth by providing photoperiod photosynthesis. To determine whether floral initiation cannabis explants respond varied in vitro, were grown under one six treatments: 12.0, 13.2, 13.8, 14.4, 15.0, and 16.0 hours per day 4 weeks. percentage flowering was highest 12.0- 13.2-hour treatments. There no treatment effects on fresh weight, final height, index. Based results, it recommended that an at least 10.8 (i.e., photoperiod) be used ‘802’ genotype. In vitro could provide unique high-throughput approach study floral/seed development secondary metabolism highly controlled conditions. Further research should if response same whole-plant level.

The present study was carried out to investigate micropropagation possibility and determine the optimal medium composition and plant growth regulators (PGRs) combinations under in vitro conditions. The cotyledon and epicotyl explants obtained from 1 month old in vitro grown seedlings were used in MS medium containing BA (0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 mg-1) and TDZ (0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 mg-1) e...
متن کاملTerpene synthases from Cannabis sativa
Cannabis (Cannabis sativa) plants produce and accumulate a terpene-rich resin in glandular trichomes, which are abundant on the surface of the female inflorescence. Bouquets of different monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes are important components of cannabis resin as they define some of the unique organoleptic properties and may also influence medicinal qualities of different cannabis strains and ...
متن کاملPKS activities and biosynthesis of cannabinoids and flavonoids in Cannabis sativa L. plants.
Polyketide synthase (PKS) enzymatic activities were analyzed in crude protein extracts from cannabis plant tissues. Chalcone synthase (CHS, EC 2.3.1.74), stilbene synthase (STS, EC 2.3.1.95), phlorisovalerophenone synthase (VPS, EC 2.3.1.156), isobutyrophenone synthase (BUS) and olivetol synthase activities were detected during the development and growth of glandular trichomes on bracts. Cannab...
متن کاملAssessment of the genetic stability of micropropagated plants of Cannabis sativa by ISSR markers.
Inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers were used to evaluate the genetic stability of the micropropagated plants of Cannabis sativa over 30 passages in culture and hardening in soil for 8 months. A total of 15 ISSR primers resulted in 115 distinct and reproducible bands. All the ISSR profiles from micropropagated plants were monomorphic and comparable to mother plants, confirming the genet...
