Photocatalytic Self-Cleaning PVDF Membrane Blended with MWCNT-ZnO Nanocomposites for RhB Removal

نویسندگان

چکیده

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes blended with various amounts of MWCNT-ZnO (0.1%–3%) nanocomposites were prepared by the phase inversion method. The effect blending on membrane structural and morphological properties was investigated XRD, FT-IR SEM techniques. Contact angle measurement reveals that hydrophilicity increases increase nanocomposite content; a reduction contact from 103° for PVDF to 49° hybrid obtained. An optimum amount 0.5% in assured 85% removal rate RbB under UV light irradiation. It observed pollutant occurs through simultaneous action two processes: adsorption photocatalysis. By nanoparticles, acquires photocatalytic which assure self-cleaning property membrane, increasing its lifetime.

Novel synthesis of ZnO/PMMA nanocomposites for photocatalytic applications

The incorporation of nanostructured photocatalysts in polymers is a strategic way to obtain novel water purification systems. This approach takes the advantages of: (1) the presence of nanostructured photocatalyst; (2) the flexibility of polymer; (3) the immobilization of photocatalyst, that avoids the recovery of the nanoparticles after the water treatment. Here we present ZnO-polymer nanocomp...

Efficient Immobilised TiO2 in Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) Membrane for Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue

Immobilised titanium dioxide (TiO2) in membrane structures has recently become attractive. This is due to the elimination of the separation step after the process of photocatalytic degradation. The efficiency of the TiO2 surface area exposed to UV light as the main important parameter needs to be considered. The immobilisation of TiO2 nanoparticles in the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane...

Binary [Cu2O/MWCNT] and ternary [Cu2O/ZnO/MWCNT] nanocomposites: formation, characterization and catalytic performance in partial ethanol oxidation.

Cuprous oxide agglomerates composed of 4-10 nm Cu2O nanoparticles were deposited on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and on ZnO/MWCNTs to give binary [Cu2O/MWCNT] and ternary [Cu2O/ZnO/MWCNT] composites. Di-aqua-bis[2-(methoxyimino)propanoato]copper Cu[O2CCCH3NOMe](2)·2H2O 1 in DMF was used as single source precursor for the deposition of nanoscaled Cu2O. The precursor decomposes either in...

Preparation, characterization and determination of photocatalytic activity of MCM-41/ZnO and MCM-48/ZnO nanocomposites

The direct and indirect methods in solvent media and grinding method in a solvent-free media were used to prepare the MCM-41/ZnO and MCM-48/ZnO photocatalysts. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed that zinc oxide nanoparticles were put into MCM-41 and MCM-48 substrates and there were ZnO crystallites as secondary phase in the extra framework of mesoporous materials. The decrease of surfa...
