چکیده
Processes on wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) are not always efficient for pollutant removal. A new, low-cost, and effective technology is needed. In this work, the photocatalytic degradation of four insecticides, chlorantraniliprole, imidacloprid, pirimicarb, thiamethoxam, has been examined in different water matrices (irrigation water, leaching waters, WWTP effluent). Lab experiments were conducted with TiO2 ZnO, as photocatalysts, without Na2S2O8 an oxidant, exposed to UVA irradiation LED lamps. Previously, loadings ZnO assessed disappearance kinetics insecticides know optimal efficiency. The effect matrices, susceptible being contaminated target was discussed when system TiO2/Na2S2O8 applied. abatement their main transformation products (TPs) also monitored during studied photoperiods. total 13 TPs detected studied. All them formed eliminated photoperiod, except thiamethoxam urea which present from beginning due its hydrolysis water. conclusion, UVA-LED lamps a good source carry out heterogeneous photocatalysis WWTP, since high efficiency, long lifetime, effectiveness

Photocatalytic and electrochemically assisted photocatalytic oxidation of formic acid on TiO2 films under UVA and UVB irradiation
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysis is a possible alternative/complementary technology for water purification. Attempts to increase the overall efficiency of the process include using higher energy UV to gain better quantum efficiency and electrochemically assisting the process by the application of an external electrical potential. In this work, nanocrystalline TiO2 films, prepared on boros...
متن کاملHomogeneous and Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Water Oxidation by Persulfate.
Photocatalytic water oxidation by persulfate (Na2 S2 O8 ) with [Ru(bpy)3 ](2+) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) as a photocatalyst provides a standard protocol to study the catalytic reactivity of water oxidation catalysts. The yield of evolved oxygen per persulfate is regarded as a good index for the catalytic reactivity because the oxidation of bpy of [Ru(bpy)3 ](2+) and organic ligands of catalysts com...

The technical feasibility, mechanisms, and performance of degradation of aqueous diuron (22 mg/L) have been studied at pilot scale in two well-defined photocatalytic systems of special interest because natural UV light can be used: heterogeneous photocatalysis with titanium dioxide and homogeneous photocatalysis by photo-Fenton. Equivalent pilot-scale (made up of Compound Parabolic Collectors (...
متن کاملSolar or UVA-Visible Photocatalytic Ozonation of Water Contaminants.
An incipient advanced oxidation process, solar photocatalytic ozonation (SPO), is reviewed in this paper with the aim of clarifying the importance of this process as a more sustainable water technology to remove priority or emerging contaminants from water. The synergism between ozonation and photocatalytic oxidation is well known to increase the oxidation rate of water contaminants, but this h...
