چکیده
The purpose of this study is to investigate the adsorption characteristics granular aggregates under identical experimental conditions for potential applications in highly adsorptive concrete. In study, industrial by-products (steel slag), lightweight (expanded silica) and bio-materials (peach shell miscanthus) are used phosphorus (P) removal from aqueous solutions. effects several parameters such as initial concentrations P, reaction time pH value on capacity efficiency P investigated using an IC analyzer. Results show that all absorbents follows isotherms with a varying concentration 5 mg/L 700 mg/L, data fitted well by Langmuir equation. steel slag exhibits higher P-adsorption compared bio-materials, estimated maximum 20.4 mg/g. Moreover, P-desorption results has very low P-desorption. Heat treatment increase miscanthus owing change pore structure determined BET. kinetic pseudo-second-order model. ICP-AES, XRD SEM-EDS analyses peach physical adsorption, whereas mechanism can be attributed Ca2+ released slag, which react form stable Ca–P precipitate. It suggested slags function effective aggregate manufacture
