Phosphonium Modified Nanocellulose Membranes with High Permeate Flux and Antibacterial Property for Oily Wastewater Separation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Nanocellulose membranes could efficiently separate oily wastewater because of their super-hydrophilic and underwater super-oleophobic property nano-porous structure. However, the practical application storage nanocellulose is limited by low water permeation flux easy corrosion bacteria, respectively. Herein, with high permeate antibacterial were fabricated grafting tetrakis(hydroxymethyl) phosphonium chloride (THPC) onto surface TEMPO-oxidized tunicate cellulose nanofibers (TCNFs) via esterification reaction. The introduction THPC groups tetrahedral structure on TCNFs significantly improved pore size interlayer space membranes, resulting in an increase flux. These THPC@TCNF super-oleophobic, which effectively various oil/water nano-emulsions. Moreover, possessed excellent durability, mechanical stability cycling performance. Due to presence positively charged groups, exhibited against B. subtilis, a typical Gram-positive bacterium presenting wastewater. This work provides simple method endow membrane property.

Preparation of blend hydrophilic PSF-SPEEK ultrafiltration membranes for oily wastewater treatment

Membrane separation is known as an efficient technique for the oily wastewater treatment. Therefore, in the present study, sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) was introduced into the polysulfone (PSF) solution in order to enhance the hydrophilicity and the membrane structure for the oil–water separation. The hollow fiber membranes were fabricated via a phase-inversion process. The memb...

Bacterial adhesion onto nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes: effect of permeate flux.

The influence of permeate flux on bacterial adhesion to NF and RO membranes was examined using two model Pseudomonas species, namely Pseudomonas fluorescens and Pseudomonas putida. To better understand the initial biofouling profile during NF/RO processes, deposition experiments were conducted in cross flow under permeate flux varying from 0.5 up to 120 L/(h m(2)), using six NF and RO membranes...
