Phenotypic, Genetic, and Epigenetic Variation among Diverse Sweet Cherry Gene Pools

چکیده
Sweet cherry germplasm contains a high variety of phenotypes which are associated with fruit size and shape as well sugar content, etc. High phenotypic variation can be result genetic or epigenetic diversity that may interact through time. Recent studies have provided evidence besides allelic variation, epiallelic establish new heritable phenotypes. Herein we conducted an study (using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) methylation-sensitive (MSAP) markers, respectively), accompanied by traits correlation analysis in sweet gene pools. The mean was greater than the (hgen = 0.193; hepi 0.185), while no significant relationship found between distance according to Mantel test. Furthermore, analyses our results predefined populations had stronger impact on their rich diversity.

Biofuels provide a promising route of producing energy while reducing reliance on petroleum. Developing sustainable liquid fuel production from cellulosic feedstock is a major challenge and will require significant breeding efforts to maximize plant biomass production. Our approach to elucidating genes and genetic pathways that can be targeted for improving biomass production is to exploit the ...

The 1001 Arabidopsis DNA Methylomes: An Important Resource for Studying Natural Genetic, Epigenetic, and Phenotypic Variation.
Intraspecific phenotypic diversity is controlled by natural genetic and epigenetic variation. Kawakatsu et al. recently sequenced the DNA methylomes of a global collection of over 1000 Arabidopsis accessions, and have thereby provided a comprehensive resource for studying natural genetic and epigenetic variation as well as the association of such variation with phenotypic diversity.
متن کاملGenetic and Phenotypic Variation for Flowering Time Genes in Barley (Hordeum vulgare)
Objective: Flowering Time (FT) in cereals controlled by genes that had a main factor on plant development. Methods: Genetic and phenotypic diversity of four flowering time genes (FT2, FT3, FT4, Ppd-H1) in 19 genotypes of cultivated and wild barley was evaluated and a total of 107 alleles were amplified. Genotypes based on days to flowering time and molecular data were grouped into earl...
