چکیده
The rise of Enterobacteriaceae strains that produce an extended spectrum b-lactamase (ESBL) has become a global concern for epidemiological surveillance and the prevention nosocomial acquired infections in modern era. choice appropriate antibiotics to be employed treatment brought on by ESBL-producing bacteria relies greatly detection identification these ESBLs laboratory. Limitations ESBL have aided unbridled emergence bacterial resistance constitute major health concern. Isolation among phenotypic methodswith their Antibiogram. Phenotypic techniques were used identify (ESBLs-E) isolates from diverse clinical samples. Kirby Baur disc diffusion technique was performed determine antimicrobial's susceptibility. Among 212 124(58.3%) positive production. E.coli(74.5%) & K.pneumoniae (52.2%) two main ESBLs. Maximum producing obtained blood samples 82% (41/50) followed urine 59 % (62/105). Meropenem (96.7%), Amikacin (82.1%), Cefoxitin most susceptible while high observed ceftazidime (62%), Ciprofloxacin (60%). majority ESBLs-E mostly found samples. It E.coli produced There prevalence tertiary care hospital central India. Therefore, strong infection control strategies must implemented settings

OBJECTIVES To determine the occurrence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae in Bahrain. METHODS Retrospective analysis of records (January 2005-December 2006) at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Salmaniya Medical Complex, Bahrain which is the major national diagnostic laboratory. RESULTS Out of a total of 11,886 member of family of Enterobacteriaceae iso...
متن کاملAntibiotic coresistance in extended-spectrum-beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae and in vitro activity of tigecycline.
The spread of extended-spectrum-beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing organisms, particularly those harboring the CTX-M-type enzymes, both in the hospital and in the community, is difficult to discontinue due to the successful mobilization and evolution of the genetic elements harboring ESBL genes and coresistance rates in these isolates. The activities of tigecycline against 285 non-clonally related...
متن کاملComparative evaluation of six phenotypic methods for detecting extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae.
INTRODUCTION Various conventional phenotypic methods and automated systems have been evaluated for extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) detection. There is a paucity of data comparing these methods using the same clinical isolates in eastern and north-eastern parts of India. The present study was designed to compare the capacity of six phenotypic methods to detect ESBLs in clinical isolates ...

Prevalence of Multiple Drug Resistant Clinical Isolates of Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase Producing Enterobacteriaceae in Southeast Iran
Background: Multidrug resistance and production of extended spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) by enteric gram-negative rods in hospitals and community continue to be worsened. We aimed to characterize the multidrug resistance and determine the prevalence of ESBL production by clinical isolates of Enterobacteriaceae in southeast Iran. Methods: Gram-negative bacteria isolated from clinical samples of...
