Phenomenological Studies for Optimizing Subsonic Underwater Discharges

Powerful subsonic underwater discharges are used as a tool in various industrial applications. The aim of this article is to find the essential design parameters required for pulsed-power system efficiently drive such discharges. Using different capacitor banks and electrode geometries, large number studies were conducted an effort better understand phenomenology discharge. Without developing numerical model plasma discharge, phenomenological clearly demonstrated that maximum pressure can be generated depends on discharge current, distance between electrodes, characteristic time results work will allow efficient pulsed-power-driven strong impulse systems.
