A Phenomenological Lagrangian Approach to Two Kaon Photoproduction and Pentaquark Searches
We examine cross sections for the processes γN → NKK in the framework of a phenomenological Lagrangian. We include contributions from Λ and Σ resonances up to spin 3/2, as well as those from an exotic Θ. We allow the Θ to have spin 1/2 or 3/2, with either positive or negative parity in each case. Experimental results of a search for the Ξ3/2(1860) cascade pentaquark state in data collected with the CDF 2 Detector in Run II at the Tevatron are presented. No evidence for these states in the neutral Ξπ and doubly charged Ξ−π− modes has been found. Preliminary upper limits on yields at 1862 MeV/c relative to the well established resonance Ξ(1530) are presented.
