چکیده
Welding is the main method for oil/gas steel pipeline connection, and a large number of girth welds are weak part pipeline. Under extremely complex loads, undergoes significant plastic deformations eventually leads to fracture. A damage mechanics model promising approach, capable describing material fracture problems according stress states materials. In this study, an uncoupled 2D with function strain triaxiality, two 3D models, consider effect Lode parameter stress-modified critical (LSMCS) model, extended Rice–Tracey (ERT) criterion were applied X80 welds. Comprehensive experimental research was conducted on different notched specimens, covering wide range states, corresponding finite element models established. phenomenon-based hybrid numerical–experimental calibration also determine these three triaxiality influence law tensile strength analyzed. The results showed that proposed could better characterize ductile behaviors pipeline; however, prediction accuracy higher than model. functional relationship between satisfied distribution form quadratic increased monotonically. can be used predict under various loads.

Phased Arrays for Pipeline Girth Weld Inspections
Ultrasonic phased arrays offer significant advantages over radiography for pipeline weld inspections: they have higher detection rates for critical planar defects (i.e. cracks and lack of fusion), better defined interpretation, vertical sizing capability for Engineering Critical Assessment, no safety hazards, no licensing issues, no chemical wastes, and no requirement to evacuate the area. Phas...
متن کاملExperimental Study of the Residual Stresses in Girth Weld of Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline
In order to achieve integrated condition in the girth welding of high pressure natural gas transmission pipelines, the weld zones and its surrounding area should have good mechanical properties. Residual stresses are an important defect especially in the girth welding of the pipeline. In this study, two API X70 steel pipes (with spiral seam weld) of 56 inches outside diameter and 0.780 inch wal...

Automated ultrasonics is steadily becoming the standard method of inspection of pipeline girth welds throughout the world. In addition, old technology multiprobe systems are rapidly being replaced by newer phased arrays. Olympus NDT developed the first phased array system a decade ago, which proved to be much more flexible and capable than multiprobe systems, particularly for offshore special a...

Economical design with sufficient fracture resistance is of high importance in any offshore pipeline projects. Using an Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA), alternate acceptance criteria for pipeline girth weld inspection can significantly reduce the cost of constructing of offshore oil and gas pipeline by minimizing unnecessary repairs. Offshore pipelines consist of short pipeline segments c...
متن کاملContinuum models of ductile fracture : A review
The past 20 years have seen substantial work on the modeling of ductile damage and fracture. Several factors explain this interest. (i) There is a growing demand to provide tools which allow to increase the efficiency of structures (reduce weight, increase service temperature or load, etc.) while keeping or increasing safety. This goal is indeed first achieved by using better materials but also...
