Phenolic Potential of Olive Leaves from Different Istrian Cultivars in Croatia

چکیده
For the first time effects of different sampling periods and their interaction with five major autochthonous Croatian Istrian olive cultivars Italian cultivar ‘Leccino’ on quantity composition leaf phenolic compounds mineral nutrients were investigated. that purpose, leaves sampled in two collecting periods, October March, coinciding harvesting pruning respectively. All selected had a higher oleuropein content period, highest levels noted for ‘Buža’ cultivars. Cultivar significantly affected almost all investigated phenols, concentrations these valuable than period. Differences observed closely related to differences profiles by genotype. Some studied nutrients, such as P, Cu B, found be correlated most abundant compounds, verbascoside.

From Olive Fruits to Olive Oil: Phenolic Compound Transfer in Six Different Olive Cultivars Grown under the Same Agronomical Conditions
Phenolic compounds are responsible of the nutritional and sensory quality of extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO). The composition of phenolic compounds in EVOO is related to the initial content of phenolic compounds in the olive-fruit tissues and the activity of enzymes acting on these compounds during the industrial process to produce the oil. In this work, the phenolic composition was studied in si...
متن کاملCharacterization of Phenolic Profile and Antioxidant Potential of Some Algerian Olive Oils Cultivars
Background: Olive oil is a source of antioxidants and poses positive effects on human health. The objective of this study was firstly to identify and quantify the phenolics of some Algerian olive oils; secondly, the antioxidant activity of the samples was assessed. Methods: The virgin olive oils used in this study were derived from three Algerian cultivars, including Azeradj, Bouchouk, and Che...
متن کاملPhenolic Extracts from Wild Olive Leaves and Their Potential as Edible Oils Antioxidants
The kinetics solid-liquid extraction of phenolics from wild olive leaves was elaborated using different mathematical models (Peleg, second order, Elovich, and power law model). As solvents, methanol, ethanol, ethanol:water 1:1, n-propanol, isopropanol and ethyl acetate were used. The second order model best described the solvent extraction process, followed by the Elovich model. The most effect...

Endocarp lignifi cation is important fruit growth phenophase since aft er its completion fruit starts with oil accumulation. Th e information about duration of endocarp lignifi cation is important for timing of management practices, irrigation and pest control in oil cultivars, and fruit thinning in table cultivars to obtain uniform fruit weight and size. In this study, fruit length, width and ...
متن کاملStudy of Phenolic Composition and Biological Activities Assessment of Olive Leaves from different Varieties Grown in Tunisia
In the present study, olive leaves of eight varieties were investigated for the total phenol and flavonoid content, for the major compound and for the in vitro antioxidant properties. The different varieties showed a high content of polyphenol and flavonoid. Oleuropein was the major compound of the leaf extract for all varieties. Also, olive leaves extract exhibited a good antioxidant activity ...
