PHENIX Spin Physics Overview

Understanding the spin structure of proton is large interest to nuclear physics community and it one main goals program at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Measurements from data taken by PHENIX detector with transverse (p ↑ + p, p Al, Au) longitudinal (⃗p ⃗p) polarization play an important role in this, particular due leading order access gluons polarized protons. This a crucially counterpart measurements made lepton-hadron scattering experiments where are not accessible order. Transverse asymmetries provide insight into initial final-state spinmomentum spin-spin parton-hadron correlations, while parton polarization. A number recent results ongoing analyses will be presented, along discussion how these contribute our understanding structure.

The overview of the spin physics at RHIC-PHENIX experiment
In Spiring 2005, RHIC successfully completed its first long data collection run with polarized proton beams. PHENIX accumulated ten fold larger statistics with higher polarization than the previous spin physics run in 2003.
