چکیده

SUMMARY Surface wave retrieval from ambient noise records using seismic interferometry techniques has been widely used for multiscale shear velocity (Vs) imaging. One key step during Vs imaging is the generation of dispersion spectra and extraction a reliable curve retrieved surface waves. However, sparse array geometry usually affects ability high-frequency (>1 Hz) signals’ acquisition. Dispersion measurements are degraded by response due to sampling often present smeared with sidelobe artefacts. Previous studies focus on interferograms’ domain (e.g. cross-correlation function) attempt enhance coherent signals before measurement. We propose an alternative technique explicitly deblur through use phase-weighted slant-stacking algorithm. Numerical examples demonstrate strength proposed attenuate responses as well incoherent noise. Three different field prove flexibility superiority technique: first data set consists acquired nodal seismometer array; second utilizes distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) marine fibre-optic cable acquire similar set; last vibrator-based active-source data. The enhanced provide cleaner higher-resolution without distortions which will assist both human interpreters ML algorithms in efficiently picking curves subsequent inversion.

A $it{weighted~slant~Toep}$-$it{Hank}$ operator $L_{phi}^{beta}$ with symbol $phiin L^{infty}(beta)$ is an operator on $L^2(beta)$ whose representing matrix consists of all even (odd) columns from a weighted slant Hankel (slant weighted Toeplitz) matrix, $beta={beta_n}_{nin mathbb{Z}}$ be a sequence of positive numbers with $beta_0=1$. A matrix characterization for an operator to be $it{weighte...

P-wave dispersion measurement: Methodological considerations

Well-known difficulties in defining P-wave onset and offset may restrict the accuracy and reproducibility of P-wave dispersion measurements. To achieve greater precision in measuring P-wave dispersion, simultaneous digital recording of all 12 ECG leads and onscreen measurement of P wave characteristics is mandatory to examine atrial fibrillation risk.

Short Note Phase-Weighted Stacking Applied to Low-Frequency Earthquakes

We apply phase-weighted stacking (PWS) to the analysis of lowfrequency earthquakes (LFEs) in the Parkfield, California, region and central Cascadia. The technique uses the coherence of the instantaneous phase among the stacked signals to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the stack. We find that for picking LFE arrivals for the Parkfield, California, region and for LFE template formatio...

Generalised Slant Weighted Toeplitz Operator

A slant weighted Toeplitz operator Aφ is an operator on L(β) defined as Aφ = WMφ where Mφ is the weighted multiplication operator and W is an operator on L(β) given by We2n = βn β2n en, {en}n∈Z being the orthonormal basis. In this paper, we generalise Aφ to the k-th order slant weighted Toeplitz operator Uφ and study its properties. Keywords—Slant weighted Toeplitz operator, weighted multiplica...

Feature-Weighted Linear Stacking

Ensemble methods, such as stacking, are designed to boost predictive accuracy by blending the predictions of multiple machine learning models. Recent work has shown that the use of meta-features, additional inputs describing each example in a dataset, can boost the performance of ensemble methods, but the greatest reported gains have come from nonlinear procedures requiring significant tuning a...
