Theory of Nanowire Radial p-n-Junction
We have developed an analytic model for the radial pn-junction in a nanowire (NW) core-shell structure utilizing as a new building block in different semiconductor devices. The potential distribution through the p-n-junction is calculated and the analytical expressions are derived to compute the depletion region widths. We show that the widths of space charge layers, surrounding the core, are t...
متن کاملSilicon nanowire radial p-n junction solar cells.
We have demonstrated a low-temperature wafer-scale etching and thin film deposition method for fabricating silicon n-p core-shell nanowire solar cells. Our devices showed efficiencies up to nearly 0.5%, limited primarily by interfacial recombination and high series resistance. Surface passivation and contact optimization will be critical to improve device performance in the future.
متن کاملLight-Induced Phase Segregation in Halide- Perovskite Absorbers
In the few short years since the inception of single-junction perovskite solar cells, their efficiencies have skyrocketed. Perovskite absorbers have at least as much to offer tandem solar cells as they do for single-junction cells due in large part to their tunable band gaps. However, modifying the perovskite band structure via halide substitution, the method that has been most effective at tun...
متن کاملTemplate electrodeposition of single-phase p- and n-type copper indium diselenide (CuInSe2) nanowire arrays.
CuInSe(2) nanowire arrays were fabricated by electrodeposition from aqueous solutions of copper sulfate, indium sulfate, selenium dioxide, and citric acid, using anodic alumina membranes as templates. X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the wires were single phase (chalcopyrite structure) but polycrystalline, and a band gap of ∼1 eV was obtained from optical measurements. TEM and SEM confirm...
متن کاملSolution-Phase Synthesis of Cesium Lead Halide Perovskite Nanowires.
Halide perovskites have attracted much attention over the past 5 years as a promising class of materials for optoelectronic applications. However, compared to hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites, the study of their pure inorganic counterparts, like cesium lead halides (CsPbX3), lags far behind. Here, a catalyst-free, solution-phase synthesis of CsPbX3 nanowires (NWs) is reported. These NWs are...
