چکیده

In this paper the phase formation and mechanical properties of VVER-type reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels with various Ni (1.57–5.95 wt.%) Mn (0.03–0.76 content after neutron irradiation up to fluences in range (53–120) × 1022 n/m2 at 400 °C were studied. The possibility carbonitride under these conditions is shown. case sufficient (>1.5 (>0.3 Ni-Si-Mn precipitates observed. Their chemical composition close G-phase Γ2-phase differs from that radiation-induced VVER-1000 RPV steels. This indicates prerequisites for thermally conditioned mechanism growth enhanced by irradiation. It also shown optimized steel manufacturing technology coupled an ultralow (≤0.03 increased 5.26 wt.% facilitates suppressing carbonitrides formation. This, turn, reduces contribution hardening embrittlement and, correspondingly, high radiation resistance temperature (400 °C).

Grain Boundary Segregation in Commercial Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel Steels

Grain boundary (GB) segregation of impurity/solute atoms in surveillance test specimens of a commercial western-type pressurized water reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steel has been observed by using state-of-the-art 3D atom probe (3DAP) field ion microscope (laser-assisted local electrode-type atom probe: laser-LEAP). The GB segregation is considered to be an origin of the embrittlement of the R...

Positron Annihilation Measurements on Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel Steels

Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy is a valuable microscopic method to study radiation damage in nuclear reactor pressure vessel steels. At SCKoCEN, a new positron lifetime setup, suited to measure positron lifetimes in irradiated steel, is being constructed. The particularity of this setup is that the prompt count rate originating from the induced 60Co-activity in the steel is highly reduced. ...

Determination of neutron temperature in irradiation channels of reactor

The neutron temperature is a characteristic parameter in irradiation channels of reactor. For nuclides which have resonances in the thermal neutron energy range, their Westcott g-factors are different from unity. The values of g-factors and cross-sections of (n, γ) reaction of these nuclides are temperature dependence. The standard energy for tabulation of thermal neutron cross-section (σ0) is ...

High Temperature Behavior of Dual Phase Steels

Dual phase steels with different martensite volume fraction and morphology were tensile tested at a temperature range of 25 to 5500C. Stress-strain curves of all steels showed serration flow at temperatures of 250 and 3500C, and smooth flow at the other temperatures. Both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased with increasing testing temperature up to about 450<sup...

Origin of Embrittlement of Commercial Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel Steels: Cu-rich Precipitates and Defects

The irradiation-induced embrittlement of the nuclear reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels is currently a vital issue for ensuring safe operation of nuclear power plants in the world since the reactors of the first generation are going to exceed their initially designed operation lifetimes. Thus, it is of great importance to reveal the nanostructural change, attributed to the origins of the embr...
