In case of fire in a structure, concrete undergoes internal transformations that can alter its durability. It is also important to take into account the effect cooling regime after temperature exposure on phase assemblage cementitious matrix. An experimental investigation was carried out investigate changes cement paste, heated up various 1000 °C then cooled water or air for comparison. Quantitative evolution obtained by techniques (TGA, XRD, NMR and ICP-AES). For both regimes, hydrated crystallised phases tend become disordered lower exposition temperature. These coexist with anhydrous products intermediate these new majority higher However, two regimes show differences. Equilibrium aluminate modified, (e.g. AFm/AFt ratio). There are structural modifications particular C-S-H. regime, beyond 600 °C, leaching observed calcium.
