Pharmacognostical, phytochemical standardization and anticonvulsant activity study of sesbania grandiflora flowers

In the India there is a good biodiversity in plants. Plants based medicinal products used as integrated part of treatment on most traditional systems medicines. Sesbania grandiflora plant which traditionally for many belongs family Fabaceae. Present study was about investigated Physicochemical and Phytochemical studies selected such grandiflora. For Soxhlet apparatus extraction materials with using water, ethanol chloroform extractive solvents. Standard chemicals methods were qualitative determination S. flowers extract. The investigation followed to determine presence chemical compound well investigate quality drug. Result found that different flower extract may alkaloids, steroids, tannins, sterols, flavonoid etc. pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) induced seizure model testing anticonvulsant activity ethanolic, aqueous extracts(100mg/kg) flowers. extracts significantly (*p < 0.01) reduced duration convulsion delay onset seizure. results has activity.
