PHACE syndrome with parotid hemangiomas: a unique case report

Abstract Background PHACE syndrome is a congenital disorder in infants characterized by the presence of large hemangiomas cervicofacial region along with anomalies cardiovascular system, brain, and eyes. an extremely rare condition, parotid has never been reported medical literature. Case presentation A 3-month-old female infant presented plaques that later involved left eyelids. The blanched on application pressure were diagnosed to be hemangiomas. MRI MRA studies brain showed extensive vascular malformations, agenesis internal carotid artery, glands. biopsy glands confirmed Bilateral cataracts subclavian artery aberrant origin also found. On basis arterial, cardiovascular, ocular abnormalities, was diagnosed. multi-disciplinary treatment approach begun, but died 20 days after hospital. Conclusions condition only described three hundred times It usually associated structural, ocular, cutaneous anomalies. However, Hemangiomas are main diagnostic feature most common lesion this disease. This strong association between suggests seen our case new addition broad spectrum syndrome.
