Petrological and geochemical constraints on the origin of apatite ores from Mesozoic alkaline intrusive complexes, Central High-Atlas, Morocco

چکیده
Five main apatite deposits from the Moroccan Central High-Atlas —including Anemzi, Tirrhist-Inouzane, Tassent, Ait-Daoud-Toumliline and Tasraft— have been investigated through integrated field, petrographic, mineralogical, geochemical studies. The ore occurs as veins, few mm to several cm thick, spatially associated with syenite-quartz monzonite (dominant) monzodiorite-gabbrodiorite bodies emplaced during Atlas Jurassic-Cretaceous alkaline magmatic event. Gem-quality crystals, up 15 in size, are albite, clinopyroxene (hedenbergite–augite–diopside), amphibole (hornblende–edenite–actinolite), K-feldspar, quartz, magnetite, titanite, epidote, prehnite, calcite. Two types of distinguished according their halogen contents: F-rich Cl-rich apatites. Both enriched REE (up 2 wt% ΣREE), major trace element contents consistent a origin, corroborated by chemical similarity accessory host intrusions, well other reference igneous However, hydrothermal fluids percolating country sedimentary rocks were also involved, indicated striking Na enrichment observed apatites, likely inherited Triassic evaporites, showing close spatial relationships intrusions. These would account for pervasive Na-metasomatism rocks, wall veins.

Petrological and geodynamical constraints of Chaldoran basaltic rocks, NW of Iran: evidence from geochemical characteristics
Chaldoran area in NW of Iran has Mesozoic oceanic crust basement. The studied rocks of this region can be divided into three groups: ophiolitic gabbros and pillow lavas, ophiolitic volcanoclastics and Eocene lava flows. Ophiolitic mafic rocks show continental volcanic arc natures and Eocene lava flow shows OIB-like nature. During the Mesozoic, the Chaldoran region was situated in the active cont...

متن کاملMagmatic origin of giant ‘Kiruna-type’ apatite-iron-oxide ores in Central Sweden
Iron is the most important metal for modern industry and Sweden is by far the largest iron-producer in Europe, yet the genesis of Sweden's main iron-source, the 'Kiruna-type' apatite-iron-oxide ores, remains enigmatic. We show that magnetites from the largest central Swedish 'Kiruna-type' deposit at Grängesberg have δ(18)O values between -0.4 and +3.7‰, while the 1.90-1.88 Ga meta-volcanic host...
