PERWUJUDAN GAGASAN “COMPLEXITY AND CONTRADICTION IN ARCHITECTURE” OLEH ROBERT VENTURI PADA ARSITEKTUR PURI AGUNG KARANGASEM BALI

 Abstrak - Arsitektur Posmodern mulai digagaskan sekitar tahun 1960-an, ketika para arsitek yang didukung oleh ide-ide filsuf dan sastrawan melihat bahwa arsitektur modern sudah tidak lagi sesuai dengan zaman karena ketidakmampuan dalam menjawab konteks budaya spesifik sebuah karya arsitektur. Seorang tokoh bernama Robert Venturi adalah salah seorang berperan penting perkembangan berbagai gagasannya, paling terkenal “Less is Bore” menanggapi semboyan More” pada Modern. menulis beberapa buku, diantaranya “Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture” berisi gagasan-gagasan Venturi. memiliki pemikiran eklektik hybrid juga turut berkembang pesat di Indonesia, khususnya Pulau Bali sebagai satu pusat kebudayaan. menjadi ciri khas Pura tempat ibadah Puri tinggal kerajaan Bali. Agung Karangasem berada Kota Amlapura, Timur. Didirikan akhir abad ke-19 Anak Anglurah Ktut diangkat Stadholder II. menerapkan konsep perpaduan antara arsitekturnya. Bali, kolonial masa pembangunan, ada pengaruh Cina.
 Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif pendekatan deskriptif-analisis. Data telah terkumpul akan diproses cara dibandingkan, dikelompokkan disimpulkan. Dalam studi dicari tercermin Karangasem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan banyaknya gagasan terwujud dilihat dari tata massa ruang, sosok bangunan ornamentasi hasil akulturasi ketiga budaya. Hal membuktikan sebelum 1960 mengeluarkan gagasan, pembangunan sejak lebih 60 sebelumnya.
