Guided tissue regeneration membranes for periodontal regeneration--a literature review.
Guided tissue regeneration materials were reviewed in this paper and can be categorized as non-resorbable and bioabsorbable. Both materials have been used extensively in periodontal regeneration with no difference in the clinical outcome. Selection of barrier material depends on resorbability, size of the defect, morphology of the defect, operator preference and patient acceptance.
متن کاملAdvanced tissue engineering in periodontal Regeneration
The old wishes of people were to regenerate lost tissues of periodontium that this fact is achieved by gen and cell therapy .Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammation around the tooth by microbes that causes destruction of supporting structure of tissue of tooth such as alveolar bone, cementum and periodontal ligament. For treatment of periodontal diseases we can use the biomaterials which ...
متن کاملMembranes for periodontal tissues regeneration
The complexity of the tissues and the healing process of the periodontal wound turn the development of therapies for the predictable regeneration of functional periodontal tissues, a challenging exercise. In the last decades, the guided tissue regeneration (GTR) emerged as a strategy to drive the innate regenerative properties of the tissues involved in the periodontal apparatus (gingiva, tooth...
متن کاملBiomaterials for Periodontal Tissue Regeneration
Periodontal diseases are characterized by alveolar bone absorption and destruction of periodontal ligament and cementum and are the main causes of tooth loss in adults. This series of diseases is harmful to both human oral and body health. Although periodontitis is under control because of the implementation of conventional treatment modalities, regenerating damaged periodontal tissues remains ...
متن کاملTreatment of lateral periodontal cyst with guided tissue regeneration
Lateral periodontal cyst (LPC), originated from epithelial rests in the periodontal ligament, is a noninflammatory cyst on the lateral surface of the root of a vital tooth. LPC is generally asymptomatic and presents a round or oval uniform lucency with well-defined borders radiographically. In this case report, clinical, histological and radiographical findings and periodontal treatment of 32-y...
