Performing Intracochlear Electrocochleography During Cochlear Implantation

چکیده
Electrocochleography (ECochG) measures inner ear potentials generated in response to acoustic stimulation of the ear. These reflect residual function cochlea. In cochlear implant candidates with hearing, electrode can directly measure ECochG responses during implantation process. Various authors have described ability monitor by continuous measurements surgery. The measurement signals surgery is not trivial. There are no interpretable up 20% cases. For a successful recording, standardized procedure recommended achieve highest reliability and avoid possible pitfalls. Therefore, seamless collaboration between CI surgeon technician key. This video consists an overview system setup stepwise performing intracochlear It shows surgeon's technician's roles process, how smooth two made possible.

Assessment of Cochlear Function during Cochlear Implantation by Extra- and Intracochlear Electrocochleography
Objective: The aims of this study were: (1) To investigate the correlation between electrophysiological changes during cochlear implantation and postoperative hearing loss, and (2) to detect the time points that electrophysiological changes occur during cochlear implantation. Material and Methods: Extra- and intracochlear electrocochleography (ECoG) were used to detect electrophysiological chan...

OBJECTIVE To monitor cochlear function by extra- and intra-cochlear electrocochleography (ECoG) during and after cochlear implantation and thereby to enhance the understanding of changes in cochlear function following cochlear implantation surgery. METHODS ECoG responses to acoustic stimuli of 250, 500 and 1,000 Hz were recorded in 9 cochlear implant recipients with presurgical residual heari...

OBJECTIVE To assess cochlear trauma during cochlear implantation by electrocochleography (ECoG) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and to correlate intraoperative cochlear trauma with postoperative loss of residual hearing. METHODS ECoG recordings to tone bursts at 250, 500, 750, and 1000 Hz and click stimuli were recorded before and after insertion of the cochlear implant electrode arr...
متن کاملIntracochlear factors contributing to psychophysical percepts following cochlear implantation.
The performance of cochlear implant patients may be related to intracochlear, histopathological factors. We have performed detailed post-mortem examinations of five human, implanted cochleas and for each electrode correlated the psychophysical threshold, comfortable level and dynamic range with spiral ganglion cell survival, presence of fibrous tissue and/or new bone, and distance between the c...
متن کاملCOCHLEAR IMPLANTATION IN IRAN
Cochlear implantation has become an increasingly common procedure in the rehabilitation of selected cases of profound deafness.' Patients should have profound total bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Sound is transformed into small electric currents which stimulate the auditory nerves in the cochlea and generate the hearing sensation. The nucleus cochlear implant is the result of more t...
