Performance study on Ca-based sorbents for sequential CO2 and SO2 capture in a bubbling fluidised bed

High temperature CO 2 and SO sequential capture in a bubbling fluidised bed was investigated using natural limestone synthetic composite pellets. Calcination conducted under oxy-combustion conditions, while carbonation sulphation occurred an air-combustion atmosphere. The goal of /SO is to desulphurise the flue gas first, followed by cyclic calcination. Here, fresh sorbent first used calcination/carbonation process then spent sent for sulphation. pellet carrying capacity 0.29 g /g sorbents cycle, that about 0.45 sorbents. fell finally plateaued around 0.10 0.12 pellets respectively. after 20 cycles 0.17 0.22 This indicates can be effectively reused removal. Abrasion observed main mode attrition, but some agglomeration also found with increasing number this may concern use Ca-based or capture. • Sequential carbon sulphur Pellets performed better activity over large cycles.
