Performance of Perforated Clay Bricks with Charcoal Waste as an Additive
نویسندگان
چکیده
In Rwanda, the traditional fired solid bricks embody high fuel consumption and quantity of clay during their molding. Traditional are also heavy compared to perforated bricks. This study aimed at investigating performance made soil (CS) mixed with charcoal waste (CW) as an additive. The physical, chemical mechanical properties CS 0, 10, 30, 40 50% CW were determined. extruded manually inclusion a varied number perforations: 4, 8, 12 15 perforations. analysis included determination organic carbon, exchangeable acidity components (through XRD) in matrix. depicted increase CaO proportions content. There was amounts cations. research found that perforations, weight loss is reduced. However, non-perforated least abrasion resistance, followed by 4 As content increased from 0 50%, perforations displayed highest resistance. concludes led linear shrinkage due calcium cations reduced magnesium soil. An optimum 30% identified for Bricks having below additive can be categorized category I (load-bearing)

Olive oil is concentrated in the Mediterranean basin countries. Since the olive oil industries are incriminated for a high quantity of pollution, it has become imperative to solve this problem by developing optimized systems for the treatment of olive oil wastes. This study proposes a solution to the problem. Burned olive waste ash is evaluated for using it as clay stabilizer. In a laboratory, ...

some agent. This agent is usually water, which can transport the radionuclides in dissolved form or in colloids or small particles. We can therefore establish that a basic characteristic of a safe repository is for it be impermeable, that is, water should not be able to penetrate it. At this stage it is appropriate to consider the physical form in which the waste will be taken to the repository...
