Performance of Joint Structure of Bent L‐Shaped Steel Members for GFRP Wall Railings

Abstract Glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) has excellent material properties such as light weight and corrosion resistance, been applied to bridge appendages wall railings. In this case, bent L‐shaped steel members (bent members) are used at the joints with floor slab. The GFRP railings were designed consider wind loads acting on them, bolt holes for anchor bolts slotted hole ease of installation. study, effects loading conditions arrangement in performance joint structure analytically investigated base results presented that, initial stiffness base, condition was smaller negative than positive loading, outside inside. It is shown that incremental axial force borne by four however, biased only two focusing neutral axis position.
