Performance of Densified Wood Glulam as Building Bio-Material

In this research, some practical aspects of densified wood glulam were investigated. For aim, poplar specimens by hygro-thermo-mechanical technique. Glulam produced finger joint technique and polyurethane glue was used as resin. Physical mechanical properties glulams investigated according to ASTM D 143-09, 905-03 ISO 8375 standards. Based on obtained results, using process (steam pressurize compaction) resulted in improvement physical specimens. Optical microscopic scanning electron (SEM) pictures proved structural changes material during applied Generally, the increase density hygrothermal treatment has a positive role especially its dimensional stability. This showed significant effect water absorption; steaming temperature holding time significantly decreased absorption but densification increased parameter. Also, delamination while negative delamination. Moreover , modulus rupture, elasticity, shear strength compression parallel grain it is depend time. Higher cause higher decrease strength.
