Performance of ‘BRS Magna’ vines grown under different training systems, rootstocks and production cycles

Over the past decade, business of producing juice from grapes (Vitis labrusca L. and hybrids) has been expanding in response to increasing consumption encouraged by campaigns promoting benefits grape can have on health. This study aimed determine effect production cycle, vine training system, rootstock yield physical physical-chemical characteristics ‘BRS Magna’ grown Vale do Submédio São Francisco northeastern region Brazil. The was conducted Petrolina, Pernambuco, over eight cycles (2017 2020). grapevines were trained three trellis systems: espalier, lyre, pergola; grafted onto two rootstocks: IAC 572 766. rootstocks affected components, vigor, BRS Magna grapes. combination pergola system 766 stood out others, providing mean yields estimated at 26 t ha –1 per cycle. soluble solids content (SS), titratable acidity (TA), SS TA ratio neither nor rootstock, higher values for lower obtained first, second, fourth eighth cycles.
