چکیده
Abstract Thermal barrier coating plays a vital role in protecting materials’ surfaces from high-temperature environment conditions. This work compares the demeanour of uncoated and air plasma sprayed Cr 3 C 2 –25NiCr NiCrMoNb coated X8CrNiMoVNb16–13 substrates subjected to oxidation molten salt (Na SO 4 + 60%V O 5 ) condition at 900 °C for 50 cycles. Coating characteristics have been analyzed through microstructure, thickness, porosity, hardness, bond strength. SEM, EDS XRD analysis were used analyze corrosion’s product end 50th cycle. microstructures showed uniform laminar structure that is adherent denser with thickness 150 ± 20 μ m porosity less than 3.5%. Dielectric properties of plasma sprayed silicates subjected to additional annealing
Several silicate materials were plasma sprayed and characterized by the authors in recent years from the point of view of their chemical and phase compositions, microstructure and mechanical as well as thermal properties. Present work is concerned with selected dielectric properties of these deposits. Synthetic mullite and steatite as well as natural olivine-forsterite were plasma sprayed using...
متن کاملAir Plasma Sprayed Bond Coat Oxidation Behavior and its Resistance to Isothermal and Thermal Shock Loading
An experimental investigation was conducted to find the effect of spraying method of coating of Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) on their oxidation behaviour and resistance to various thermal loading. Isothermal and thermal shock tests were performed in order to study oxidation behaviour of air plasma sprayed Bond Coat (BC) and assess its effect on TBCs lifetime under the stated loadings. Specim...
متن کاملHigh-temperature degradation of plasma sprayed thermal barrier coating systems
Thermal barrier coating systems (TBCs) are used in gas turbines to prevent high-temperature degradation of metallic materials in the combustor and turbine. One of the main concerns regarding TBCs is poor reliability, and accurate life prediction models are necessary in order to fully utilise the beneficial effects of TBCs. This research project aims at developing deeper understanding of the deg...
متن کاملMicrostructure and Tribological Performance of TiB2-NiCr Composite Coating Deposited by APS
Nickel chromium (NiCr) powders with different titanium diboride (TiB2) additions (20, 40 and 60 wt %) were prepared with a mechanical alloying method and then sprayed using an air plasma spraying technology. The microstructure and phase composite of the powders and the cross-sections of deposited coatings were analyzed with a scanning electronic microscope and X-ray diffraction. The tribologica...
متن کاملHigh Temperature Corrosion Inhibition Performance of Imidazoline and Amide
Imidazoline and its precursor, amide, are very effective inhibitor intermediates and are widely used in formulating the corrosion products for application in the oil and gas industries. Their high temperature corrosion inhibition performance was evaluated and compared. Our results show that imidazoline and amide offer poor to moderate high temperature/pressure (300 °F/3,000 psig) inhibition per...
