چکیده
Surface water pollution has increased, owing to industrial development and population growth. Consequently, it is important find alternative drinking treatment strategies, which cater for changes in the quality of raw water. This study compared efficiency different coagulants treating that feeds a plant (WTP). Using jar testing equipment number physicochemical parameters, an investigation was conducted establish optimum conditions aluminium chloride (A), ferric (B), chitosan (C), their performance with sulphate (D), coagulant used at WTP. The turbidity removal efficiencies single were order: B (95.7%) > A (94.7%) C (94.4%), doses 60, 50, 0.6 mg/L, respectively. achieved high turbidity, total dissolved solids (TDS), ultraviolet absorbance 254 nm (UV254) conductivity under acidic conditions. For dual coagulants, there gradual increase tested parameters increasing pH. Combined more effective highest being exhibited by A/C combination. Overall, proved be suitable alternatives D, since they had comparable performances.

Background and aims: Colloidal impurities are one of the natural contaminants in surface water that cause turbidity and color. Turbidity in spite of create undesirable appearance, can be a haven for disinfection of microorganisms. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of various coagulants in removing average turbidity of water and also their impact on the electrical conductivity and ...
متن کاملA comparative study of prediction models for Coagulation process in drinking Water Treatment Plants
Coagulation process is an essential part of drinking water treatment operations. The jar test is a widely-used laboratory procedure to determine the quantity of coagulation chemical dosages for water treatment plants. However, the test is not effective for real-time control of this process due to the nonlinear behaviour and rapid variations of water quality parameters. In this study, empirical ...

The aim of this paper is to present the development and validation of a neural network model for on-line prediction of coagulant dosage from raw water characteristics. The main parameters influencing the coagulant dosage are firstly determined via a PCA. A brief description of the methodology used for the synthesis of neural models is given and experimental results are included. The training of...
