چکیده
Tree planting on degraded lands plays a key role in forest rehabilitation processes through afforestation and/or reforestation. Moisture conservation structures have significant impact seedling survivals at lands. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect moisture survival and growth performance selected tree species. Field experiment was conducted for four (2016-2020) area closure Babile District East Hararghe Zone, Ethiopia. experimental design followed split plot design. as main used Soil level bund, Trench normal pit (used control). species grown subplots Moringa oleifera, Melia azedarach, Grevillea robusta, Leuceana leucocephala Sesbanea sesban. five planted by using seedlings. rate, plant height, diameter breast height root collar measured every three months year after transplanting. result shows that but not height. bund significantly higher than those structures, trench (P≤0.05). Survival rate soil when (control) interaction seedlings thicker, taller more survived Based experiments, it is concluded particularly Trenches considered most appropriate pit. Therefore, further demonstration should be carried out.

The groundnut plant has the ability to survive in areas of low rainfall because it is a legume and it increases soil fertility by fixing nitrogen in the soil. The study area is known by erratic and uneven rainfall while groundnut is the main cash crop in the area. The study identified the groundnut market outlets, factor affecting groundnut market outlet choice and identifies farm level women r...
متن کاملIndigenous Woody Species Regeneration under the Canopies of Exotic Tree Plantations at Tore Forest, Gelana District, Southern Oromia, Ethiopia
Ethiopia has one of the longest forest plantation histories in Africa. Forest plantations in Ethiopia are mainly monocultures of exotic species, such as Eucalyptus globulus, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Cupressus lusitanica, Casuarina cunninghamiana, Pinus patula, Pinus radiata, and the native species Juniperus procera. Accordingly, in the end of the 19th century Eucalyptus species were introduced...
