Performance Evaluation of a Novel Bio-Trickling Filter for Styrene Waste Gas Treatment

In recent years, styrene waste gas has become a hot issue in the treatment industry due to its hydrophobicity and easy polymerization. This study is aimed at problems of long empty bed residence time low removal capacity from degradation by bio-trickling filter (BTF). A novel (NBTF) that we designed was used explore effects inlet concentration, (EBRT), starvation period on performance NBTF gas. The experimental results show can be started 17 days; when concentration lower than 1750 mg/m3 EBRT 59.66 s, efficiency (RE) reach 100%. When 1000 greater 39.77 also completely degraded. above proves complete with high under condition short EBRT; whole operation process, maximum elimination capability (EC) 112.96 g/m3/h, shows excellent styrene. 2 days, 7 days 15 respectively, recover within after restart. good 124 operation, which effectively degrade provides reference basis for industrial future.
