Performance enhancement of a cross flow dew point indirect evaporative cooler with circular finned channel geometry

Efficient geometric design has a significant influence on heat transfer characteristics in exchanging devices. Performance of dew point evaporative cooler can be significantly enhanced through modification(s) dry channel order to achieve desired cooling effect. In this regard, the current study reports experimental analysis finned cross flow indirect (IEC) working under wide range operating conditions. The system is designed for capacity about 1 kW using circular Aluminum fins which are deployed channels IECwf; thereby increasing around 5% terms surface area enhancement process. While another and mass exchanger used Indirect Evaporative Cooler without having extended surfaces (IECwof). Both setups investigated similar conditions ambient air temperature (varying between 30 45 °C), humidity (ranging 10 12 g/kg), velocity (varied from 2 6 m/s) water (25–35 °C). both IECwf & IECwof capacity, drop product air, wet bulb effectiveness, effectiveness thermal coefficient performance. results show that achieved average value supply 16.5 °C with 692 W 25% 18% compared IECwof, respectively. resulted COP 11.24 IECwf. This efficient better suited residential, commercial industrial purposes hot regions.
