Performance assessment of a triangular microchannel active magnetic regenerator

چکیده
Abstract The manufacturing process and mechanical instability of high performance magnetocaloric materials hamper the implementation novel geometries for active magnetic regenerators. In this work, La(Fe,Si,Mn)13Hy is shaped into a regenerator with triangular microchannels hydraulic diameter 200–300 μm using that results in highly stable structure. characterized regards to heat transfer, resistance, cooling stability. similar conventional packed bed AMRs but significantly lower flow resistance. chemical stabilities are validated by comparisons transfer effectiveness, pressure drop properties before after long-term testing. machining accuracy brittle material therefore qualified. According evaluation criterion, has good potential maximizing operational coefficient performance, an estimated 42% improvement COP specific refrigerator.
