Performance and Usability Evaluation Scheme for Mobile Manipulator Teleoperation

This article presents a standardized human–robot teleoperation interface (HRTI) evaluation scheme for mobile manipulators. Teleoperation remains the predominant control type manipulators in open environments, particularly quadruped However, manipulators, especially are relatively novel systems to be implemented industry compared traditional machinery. Consequently, no method has been established them. The proposed is first of its kind evaluating manipulator teleoperation. It comprises set robot motion tests, objective measures, subjective and prediction model provide comprehensive evaluation. tests encompass locomotion, manipulation, combined test. duration each trial collected as response variable measure. Statistical tools, including mean value, standard deviation, T-test, utilized cross-compare between different predictor variables. Based on an extended Fitts' law, employs time mission difficulty index forecast system performance future missions. measures utilize NASA-task load usability scale assess workload usability. Finally, real-world with two widely-used HRTIs, gamepad wearable capture system.
