Percutaneous Transluminal Caval-Flow Regulation PTCR®: A New Alternative Therapy to Reshape the Future Treatment of Heart Failure

چکیده
Percutaneous Transluminal Caval-flow Regulation (PTCR) is an emerging alternative therapy to treat patients with acute heart failure (AHF). AHF represents the first cause of hospitalization in elderly persons and main determinant huge healthcare expenditure related (HF). Despite therapeutic advances, prognosis poor, in-hospital mortality ranging from 4% 7%, 60 90-day mortality. To reverse this situation, a balloon catheter medical device has been designed produce cyclic occlusions Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) supported by phases respiration, thus having subtotal occlusion during expiration total inspiration, producing intermittent regulation venous return or preload IVC right atrium. This PTCR procedure minimally invasive. It performed through insertion via femoral vein. advanced guided echocardiogram fluoroscopy be placed prior drainage hepatic At point, inflated up 70% 80% diameter expiration, which previously evaluated echocardiography. Then inspiratory collapse (20 30% average) produces inspiration partial thereby regulating caval flow manner. innovative aimed at hypervolemia present IVC, normalizing return, preload, intracardiac pressures, biventricular diastolic systolic diameters, volume, thus, obtaining reduction cardiac burden (TCB) reversal ventricular remodeling. In manner returns close its original design, improvement ejection fraction (EF) output.

A Future Approach to the Treatment of Heart Failure?
Maurice et al 1 recently reported that a global ventricular 10-fold overexpression of the b-2 adrenergic receptor, mediated by the intracoronary injection of an adenoviral vector, can be produced in the rabbit. This overexpression resulted in an increased maximum rate of change in left ventricular pressure, dp/dtmax, both at baseline and in response to isoproterenol infusion at 6 days after tra...
متن کاملTHERAPY AND PREVENTION CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE Treatment of restenosis of coarctation by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty
Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) was used successfully to treat coarctation restenosis in seven patients. The patients were 10 months to 17 years old at the time of the angioplasty, and the initial coarctation repair had been performed 10 months to 161⁄2/2 years previously. PTA reduced the systolic pressure gradient across the coarctation from a mean of 58 mm Hg before the procedure ...
متن کاملfrom linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
15 صفحه اولA New Approach to Detect Congestive Heart Failure Using Symbolic Dynamics Analysis of Electrocardiogram Signal
The aim of this study is to show that the measures derived from Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals many a time perform better than the same measures obtained from heart rate (HR) signals. A comparison was made to investigate how far the nonlinear symbolic dynamics approach helps to characterize the nonlinear properties of ECG signals and HR signals, and thereby discriminate between normal and cong...
