Perceptions and needs of health professionals concerning health information systems

Background : In recent decades, there has been an increasing interest in patients’ needs and their satisfaction with health systems. Various studies have presented several benefits of information management application care. Health technology can contribute to improving care services performance, cost savings, greater engagement patients own health. Therefore, many organizations are planning increase overall adoption activities. Objectives The aim our research is assess professionals’ views on the value systems usage. Methods focuses use technologies National System Greece was performed using a structured electronic questionnaire answered by 1,216 doctors, nurses, other staff. Results Among study sample, 92.11% hospitals had installed Information (HIS). Of respondents, 86.18% believed that HIS extremely important, 88.8% reported high or very frequency usage workplace. However, 22.3% cases, professionals highlighted need for integrated systems: because no connection exchange within various (clinical administrative) systems, this considered be barrier effectiveness improvement system. Conclusions analysis led proposal system based skills field communication technologies.
