PENGGUNAAN FILTRAT RIMPANG JAHE MERAH (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) TERHADAP HAMA ULAT BAWANG MERAH (Spodoptera exigua H.)

Spodoptera exigua H. is a pest on shallot plants. S. control usually performed using synthetic insecticides. However, its use can cause negative impacts humans and the agricultural environment. Therefor, it needs alternative insecticides that are safer environmentally friendly such as Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum. The purpose of this research was to obtain effective concentration red ginger rhizome filtrate conducted at experimental farm Faculty Agriculture, Riau University from September November 2019. Experiments were carried out completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments 4 replications. treatment used 0 ml.l-1 water, 20 40 60 dan 80 water. results showed water could pests total mortality 82,50% an initial death time 7 hours lethal 50 40,25 hours.
